Country listeners can immediately tell Rustie Blue is a bundle of energy whether she’s onstage or she’s coming through on a podcast. The great thing about Rustie is her honesty when she sings and when she writes. Born in Zanesville, Ohio Rustie grew up listening to country music’s finest. Her grandmother is Lila Jane Travis which puts Rustie in legendary Merle Travis’s bloodline. But talent isn’t necessarily hereditary as most of us already know. Rustie performs with the likes of Whisperin’ Bill Anderson, Aaron Tippin, Daryle Singletary, Jeff Carson, Rhett Akins and David Lee Murphy. Rustie’s debut CD “that Oughta Do It” enjoyed a great deal of success when it was released in 2001. The first single from that CD, “I’m Dropping Tears” went all the way to number 7 on the Worldwide Mainstream Chart (for most played artist) in August, 2001. Rustie’s latest single, “Cloud Of Dust” hit the Radio & Record Review Chart in December of 2005. This tune was ‘picked’ on the nationally syndicated show “After Midnite With Blair Garner” during the “Pick It Or Flick It’. Rustie’s latest international hit was a collaboration with country legend Whisperin’ Bill Anderson, “Chip, Chip”. This single was released worldwide in August and won the "Vocal Collaboration Of The Year" in the E.C.M.A. Music Choice Awards 2005.  Rustie was honored when she had the opportunity to accept the award on the Grand Ole Opry stage along side of Whisperin' Bill Anderson during the CMA Fest.   "Chip Chip," Rustie's third album was released in mid-October, 2004, and it has been receiving  rave reviews from the critics.    Rustie has recently been nominated for Female Artist Of The Year in the Music Box TV Awards 2005 (France) along with 6 other artists, Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson , Reba, Shania Twain, Alison Kraus and Mary Chapin Carpenter, and has just signed with Jean Claude Paulin du Besset of Mission Country, France. If you get the chance do make it a point to see Rustie when she comes to a stage near you.
