Anyone who has ever taken that first step to do something unique in a very competitive field of endeavor know you have to be strong, persistent and good. Greg Scudder, a 25 year old from Ceres, California has all that and more. In fact, Greg has managed to make it to the Country Showdown for the past two years. Walking out onto the stage of Ryman Auditorium isn't the kind of thing you do just at the drop of a hat, either!

A carpenter by trade, Greg pursues his passion of singing and songwriting as well. If you have ever seen Greg or his band, Greg Scudder & The Beer 30, perform you know he devotes a great deal of energy to his music. He says, " I found my talent for singing when I began to sing karaoke at local bars. In 2003 I entered my first competition at the Stanislaus County Fair. I won the very first "Stanislaus County Fair Idol" and from there on I began to play the guitar and write my own music."

If you are able to catch Greg's performance on cable through the Texaco Country Showdown, you'll see exactly why he's on the rise and unstoppable!
